This page contaings links to watch the three recent sermons preached at the Patterson Avenue Baptist Church.
Sermon # 1 was preached on November 11, 2012 by myself (Bill Nieporte). The titled for the sermons is “How Much More.”
Jesus refers the love human parents have for their children. We know not to give a scorpion to a child needing a fish. We know not to give a rock to a child hungry for bread. It goes without saying that any sane parent will treat their child with an abundance of love – this despite the fact that we are broken in sin. Jesus says, “If you know how to do good for your children…HOW MUCH MORE will the Father in heaven!”
This sermon talks about HOW MUCH MORE God’s grace and work of reconciliation in Christ is given to us. Click this hyperlink to watch this sermon.
Sermon # 2 was preached on November 18, 2012 by the Reverend Albert Kwabi, Student Intern at the church. Rev. Kwabi’s mission is to lead our congregation to make connections in the city of Richmond to internationals, with specific aim toward his home country of Ghana.
Rev. Kwabi’s sermon is based on Hebrews 1 (among other texts) and speaks of “The Sufficiency of Christ” and you can watch this sermon when you click this hyperlink.
Sermon #3 was preached by myself on November 25, 2012 on “Christ the King Sunday.” Based on the parable of “The Good Samaritan,” this sermon’s text is Luke 10:25-37. The sermon continues the theme that being a missional church and missional people simply means, “Being on God’s Mission With God.” God’s mission: “God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself…we are Christ Ambassadors.”
