“I’m Just Saying…”

Some people have a really strange understanding of atonement.

Got this note recently from a FACEBOOK “friend.”

“The Gospel is a message of a God so angry that he’s willing to allow his chosen people to slaughter his son.”

Here’s how I responded:

“I have to totally disagree with you. To explain why would mean that I would spend the rest of the day cutting and pasting most of the Bible into FB. Let’s just start with ‘God so love the world.’”

The concept of God loving people is a pretty tough theological concept for people to wrap their minds around these days.  Several days have past and I haven’t heard back from him yet.
