Read 2 Timothy 1:8-12
We all know the story of the Wizard of Oz and those three who went on a journey with Dorothy of Kansas seeking the missing ingredient for their lives.
Tin Man wants a heart…Scarcrow a brain…Lion wants courage
You will remember also the end of the story.
They did not get those gifts from any wizard. Those gifts were already within them, just needing to be called out and put to use. That is what the Wizard did.
In this scripture it says that God has already given us a holy calling and grace ages ago. It is already ours. As such, everything we need to do everything God is calling us to do is ALREADY within us, waiting to be called out and put to use.
It’s good doctrine: You already have all that you need within you to fulfill your calling because of the presence of the Holy Spirit. By God’s grace express through Jesus Christ, the power of fear has been broken and you have been given a spirit of power,
love, self-control, discipline, and a sound mind. These gifts are already within you ready to be used.
These gifts (and so many more) are a part of the gracious part of God’s creation, redemption, and calling on your life.
